Welcome to Kolkata, the starting point of your Himalayan adventure! Upon arrival in this vibrant city, you'll meet your group and travel guides. In the evening, there will be a detailed briefing session covering road conditions, the driving schedule, and essential safety measures. You will also get acquainted with your Royal Enfield motorcycle, ready to take you into the heart of the adventure. The day will conclude with a welcome dinner followed by some relaxation time in preparation for the next day’s flight.
Today, we take to the skies! Board a morning flight from Kolkata to Paro, Bhutan. As you fly over the majestic Himalayan mountains, get ready to be amazed by spectacular views of snow-covered peaks. Upon arrival in Paro, dive into Bhutanese culture with your first city exploration, including a visit to Paro Dzong and the National Museum. After this rich day of discoveries, enjoy a well-deserved rest before tomorrow’s ride.
Time to start your Royal Enfield adventure! After a hearty breakfast, you’ll ride towards Bhutan’s capital, Thimphu. The road offers winding paths and stunning views of the Paro valley. In Thimphu, explore key landmarks such as the Buddha Dordenma statue and the National Memorial Chorten. The evening is free to relax and soak in the local atmosphere. A scenic detour also takes us through Haa before crossing the Chele La Pass at 3,800 meters.
Get ready for an exhilarating ride to Punakha. The journey takes you over the Dochula Pass at 3,100 meters, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas. We then descend into the lush Punakha Valley, famous for the majestic Punakha Dzong, located at the confluence of the Pho and Mo rivers. After a short break, you’ll have the opportunity to explore this iconic site and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before resting for the night.
Prepare for an epic riding day toward the heart of Bhutan! Today’s journey is long but scenic, with winding roads, lush forests, and charming villages. We'll stop at Chendebji Chorten before continuing to Trongsa, a historic town known for its imposing Trongsa Dzong, once the administrative center of central Bhutan. The stunning views and rich history make this leg truly unforgettable.
Today’s ride is shorter but no less spectacular. The road leads through the spiritual heart of Bhutan—Bumthang, known for its deep cultural and religious heritage. Upon arrival, explore the beautiful Jambay Lhakhang and Kurje Lhakhang temples, both steeped in history and legend. Bumthang is also a perfect place to relax and recharge for the next leg of your journey.
Today is a well-earned rest day—ideal for relaxing and enjoying the surroundings. For the more adventurous, there are several short rides around the Bumthang valley, offering chances to explore secluded monasteries and picturesque villages on your Royal Enfield. As Bhutan’s spiritual center, Bumthang offers a tranquil environment perfect for reflection and re-centering before continuing your adventure.
One of the most thrilling days of the journey! Today, you’ll cross the Thrumshing La Pass, the highest motorable road in Bhutan at 3,780 meters. This challenging yet exhilarating ride includes steep climbs, tight hairpin turns, and breathtaking panoramas. After the pass, descend into the Mongar valley—one of the most beautiful stretches of the route, dotted with waterfalls and terraced fields. Mongar, a charming town rich in tradition, offers a peaceful night’s rest.
Today’s ride takes us further east through winding roads and serene mountain landscapes. Trashigang is one of the most vibrant regions in eastern Bhutan, known for its rich culture and natural beauty. Explore the Trashigang Dzong, which overlooks the valley and serves as the city’s focal point. With light traffic, this peaceful ride offers a deep dive into Bhutan’s untouched eastern landscapes.
Today marks the final leg of our Bhutan journey, heading towards SamdrupJongkhar, the eastern gateway to India. The route takes you through lush forests and subtropical landscapes, providing a stark contrast to the western mountains. In SamdrupJongkhar, experience a cultural blend of Bhutanese and Indian influences as we approach the border. Tonight, we’ll celebrate the completion of this incredible journey across Bhutan with a relaxed and friendly dinner.
Today, you’ll cross the border into India and begin the final stretch of your adventure towards Guwahati, the largest city in Assam. As we leave the mountains behind and descend into the plains, the roads become wider and the scenery changes to open fields and charming villages. Guwahati, a city that blends tradition and modernity, marks the end of this epic Bhutan journey. This evening, we’ll share a farewell dinner and celebrate the unforgettable memories made together.
On this final day, you’ll take a flight from Guwahati back to Kolkata, concluding your journey across Bhutan. Back in Kolkata, we’ll gather once more for a farewell dinner to celebrate this extraordinary trip—from spectacular mountain roads to unforgettable encounters and deep immersion into Bhutanese culture.
After a calm morning in Kolkata, enjoy some last moments with your fellow riders, reliving the highlights of this unforgettable adventure. Then, head to the airport for your international flight.
