Are you a biker and are you drawn to Nepal? Sandwiched between its immense neighbours, India and China, dominated by the highest peaks in the world, Nepal will dazzle you with its rich traditions, its tropical jungle and snow-capped peaks, its architecture and its population of over 60 ethnic groups. Kathmandu, the country's political and religious capital and largest city, will captivate your soul with its countless 17th-century temples and palaces. Our adventure begins in Kathmandu, the starting point of our road trip that will take us all the way to Mustang. It's here that you'll meet your mount, the mythical Royal Enfield. Green plains, lush rice paddies, villages and spectacular scenery mark our route to the Kingdom of Lo: Mustang. If you're an experienced biker, keen on adventure and fantastic experiences, this trip is for you!
We are delighted to welcome you to Nepal! Upon your arrival at the airport, we will be at your service to transfer you to the hotel. This picturesque city is highly regarded for its natural beauty and vibrant atmosphere. Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and surroundings.
The first day of our motorcycle journey takes us to the Terai region, often referred to as the rice bowl of Nepal. In the early afternoon, we will explore the jungle of the park, where abundant wildlife and lush vegetation thrive. This will be an interesting contrast to the mountainous landscapes of the Himalayas that we will encounter later in our journey. We will spend the night in an eco-lodge to fully enjoy the natural and pristine environment.
Departure for an inhospitable environment populated by gavials (swamp crocodiles, a species that can grow up to 4 or 5 metres long). And to get a better look at them in their natural environment, in complete safety of course, we sail on the Narayani river.
We head for the mountains towards Tansen, in the north-west. We discover this charming little town, far from the usual tourists. With its picturesque, quiet streets, this peaceful spot invites you to take a stroll and relax after this long journey.
A beautiful route along the valley of the Aadhi Khola river to Pokhara. Here we return to the city and its heavy traffic. We arrive at Lake Phewa in the afternoon, where we enjoy some well-deserved free time.
Off we go to Mustang! The trail follows the course of the Kali Gandaki river, the valley narrows and the snow-capped peaks of the Annapurnas greet us from the top of their 8,000 metre peaks! We reach Tatopani, famous for its natural thermal baths.
Only 75 km for this day? Yes, and you'll soon see why! Mustang expects you to be worthy of it... The first 20 km to Ghasa will be the most difficult, with a very steep, rocky track and some rather perilous fords. We ride through a deep valley that offers spectacular scenery. We pass through the picturesque village of Jomson, the largest in the valley, and reach an altitude of at least 3500m.
We get an early start to the day, setting off on our Motorcycle to ride along a remote, rocky track winding its way up the mountain. The view of the majestic peak of Dhaulagiri (over 8000 metres high) is breathtaking, almost supernatural. We continue on to Muktinath, where we visit one of the oldest temples dedicated to Lord Vishnu, at an altitude of 3,710 metres, a sacred temple for Buddhists and Hindus. We then descend into the Kali Gandaki valley and return to the tarmac for a short distance. As we approach Tukuche, we will be surrounded by coniferous forests characteristic of the Himalayan plains.
We hit the gas in the direction of Begnas Lake. We then enjoy a delicious traditional meal at Sarangkot, and breathtaking views of Pokhara and Lake Phewa. We'll set off again for a twenty-kilometre drive, and enjoy a rest on the banks of Begnas Lake, a true haven of peace.
It's off for a long, magnificent day of motorcycling towards Kathmandu. We ride along the Trisuli River, named after Lord Shiva's trident. We'll take in the breathtaking scenery and diversity of landscapes: lush green rice paddies, breathtaking gorges, picturesque valleys... Lunch in the village of Bandipur, a veritable living museum with its 18th-century architecture, then on to Nuwakot, a pretty village on a hill overlooking the Trisuli valley. Here we will spend the night in traditional surroundings.
We hop on our bikes for our final 75 km ride to Kathmandu. This is a beautiful route that will take us through the Shivapuri National Park before we reach the capital. We return our bikes and have lunch. The afternoon is then free to enjoy the atmosphere of Thamel, a lively district of Kathmandu, before spending our last evening there.
It's time to say goodbye, and see you soon! You will be transferred to the airport according to your flight schedule.
