Ladakh, with some of the highest roads in the world, is a great place to explore on a Motorcycle. Infinity and exoticism await you in the heart of the majestic Indus Valley. Here, monasteries cling to the mountain slopes, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Continue your quest northwards over the Kardung La pass (at 5370 metres altitude) and into the magnificence of the Nubra valley. Then your wheels will take you to the Rupshu and its high plateau, where lakes Tso Moriri and Tso Kar sparkle like jewels. Pleasure, challenge, freedom, only your Royal Enfield will allow you to push your limits during this exceptional Motorcycle road trip in the majestic heights of the Himalayas
You've arrived in India! We'll meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, the rest of the day will allow you to either rest or immerse yourself in the typical atmosphere of the capital.
We depart for Leh by plane after breakfast. We will take possession of our bikes and go for a ride to get used to the altitude.
For our first stage, we ride towards Khardung La, the highest pass in the world (5370 m altitude), a route that will give you the fantastic impression of being on a Motorcycle circuit. The Zanskar and Karakoram ranges offer majestic panoramas.
A restful day where we can take full advantage of the sumptuous landscapes of the Nubra Valley, the ancient silk route to Central Asia. Also known as Ldumra, the "Valley of Flowers", this valley offers the chance, weather permitting, to hike through its grandiose landscapes and, why not, take a dip in its waterfalls.
After an early start, we'll drive along relatively comfortable back roads alongside the Shyok River, which rises from the foot of the Siachen glacier, one of the longest glaciers in the world. We'll have an open-air meal on the riverbank before setting off again for the Wari-La pass, which rises to 5,300m, to reach the Indus valley, India's mythical and sacred river.
Your Motorcycle will be roaring with anticipation at the thought of the marvellous Khargil road which will take us through the idyllic landscapes of the Indus valley to Lamayuru and its monastery, bathed in serenity and spirituality, perched on the arid rocks overlooking the valley.
We continue up the Indus, watched over by the Zanskar mountain range, crossing the Fotu La pass, culminating at 4094 m, and passing through small villages typical of Tibetan Buddhist culture.
On our way back to Leh, our wheels will take us to some magnificent monasteries, including Likir (52 km from Leh), built in the 11th century and perched high above the valley, and Phvang (19 km from Leh), also high up in a calm and peaceful atmosphere, with its museum dating from the 10th century and housing numerous Tibetan, Chinese and Mongolian collections.
Leaving Leh, we head for Upshi, a small village in the Indus valley, which we will leave via carriage roads leading through grand gorges. We'll take in the view of Kang Yatse (culminating at 6,400 m) and reach Rultse to tackle the ascent of Tanglang La, the 2nd highest pass in Ladakh (5,359 m), then, between stony and sandy tracks, we'll reach the Tso Khar salt lake. The panorama, the reflection of the mountains in the waters of the lake and the salt deposited on the banks like a fine layer of snow will not fail to fill you with wonder.
We enter Rupshu, a very remote area of Ladakh, on sandy, sometimes stony tracks to reach Lake Tso Moriri, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Himalayan range. Its stunning blue waters change colour according to the moods of the sun and clouds.
Over 200 km on a dream road! We're almost alone in the world! Gorges and valleys follow one another as the river flows by, and we'll be there until we arrive in Leh, the political, cultural and economic centre of Ladakh.
We enjoy a well-deserved rest in Leh. The old town is full of charm and its monuments are often located at the top of the town's rocky ridge. You can take a Motorcycle out to the Royal Palace of Stok, visit the stupas, or even take a stroll through the Tibetan market for some last-minute shopping.
Goodbye Himalayas! We'll be leaving you with a heavy heart, but a head full of memories... Early in the morning, we'll catch our flight back to the capital.
Enjoy a day at leisure in Delhi, where there is no shortage of things to do and see: the Lotus Temple, the Red Fort, the Gateway to India, Humayun's tomb (a UNESCO World Heritage Enjoy a day at leisure in Delhi, where there is no shortage of things to do and see: the Lotus Temple, the Red Fort, the Gateway to India, Humayun's tomb (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Lodhi Garden and its bountiful natural surroundings, and Chandni Chowk, the heart of Old Delhi.
