Welcome to India, where you will be met by one of our agents. You will be transferred to your hotel. You will then have some free time to acclimatise to the capital.
You will be free until the time set for our departure by bus, where you will spend the night, heading for Naggar, the starting point of our ride.
Rest in the morning. After lunch, we will take possession of the bikes, then ride to the Jana Waterfall to get to grips with the vehicles.
We will ride for around fifty kilometres through the Kullu valley, which is low-lying, fertile and green. We will then take small roads to reach Jenjehli, located at the foot of the Himalayas.
We set off on an 80 km stage, on forest tracks. Following the ridges, we will reach the Banjar valley and finish our journey in the middle of the forest at Soja (almost 3000 m altitude), a village close to the Great Himalayan National Park.
We take the road over the Jalori pass, famous for its historical and mythological aspects, and meet the Satluj river, which flows from the Tibetan plateau across the Great Himalayas. We'll follow it past Rampur, famous for the palace of the Maharaja of Bushar, built in the 20th century in a traditional Himalayan architectural style. In the afternoon, we arrive in Saharan, a pretty, picturesque village in the mountains, known for its natural beauty, its historic Bhimakali temple and its annual festival.
We follow the Sutlej, the longest river in the region, which rises on Mount Kailash on the famous Hindustan-Tibet road, an ancient communication route between Lhasa and the Punjab plain. We then leave the valley to cross the gorges that will take us to Sangla, a village nestling at an altitude of 2,500 metres.
We head for the Tibetan plateau, crossing arid, rocky and austere terrain. We finish our day at an altitude of 3,600m, in the small village of Nako, surrounded by Himalayan landscapes.
We head for Tabo and its monastery, which contains an intact llama mummy. This village is close to Tibet. We then travel to Kaza, the capital of Spiti.
We will take the day off to visit the town of Dhankar, a well-known site in the Spiti Valley, and its monastery or Dhankar Gompa. We will then visit the village of Lalung, a small hidden gem in the Himalayas, and its monastery featuring magnificent sculptures. Return to Kaza for lunch.
We ride towards and over Kunzum Pass. Situated at an altitude of 4,590m, it links the Lahaul valley on the west side of the pass with the Spiti valley on the east side. Its summit offers spectacular views of the Bara-Sigri glacier. We end our journey on the Chandra Taal trail (Chandra: moon, Taal: lake) in the Spiti valley. The colour of the water in this sacred lake changes constantly at the end of the day.
We descend from the Chandra Taal via the Rohtang-La Himalayan pass (3,978 m) on the Manali to Jispa road. This is one of the highest roads in the world. We reach Manali via the Kullu valley at an altitude of 2,000m. Expect an impressive descent with its many twists and turns.
A day at leisure in Manali as you wish, you can stroll around to take in the splendour of the surrounding mountains one last time, immerse yourself in the typical atmosphere of the town and choose souvenirs that will undoubtedly delight your family or friends. We will leave Manali in the late afternoon on a deluxe bus for an overnight journey back to Delhi.
We arrive in Delhi at around 7.30 am. You can visit Delhi or do some shopping, depending on the time of your transfer to the international airport for your return flight.
